Official Announcement - MEGA Rotofury

Last week we got wind that a big announcement was due this week ahead of the UK Toy Fair which UK NERF will be attending on Thursday.

If I'm honest I was a little sceptical, assuming that it would be official news about one of the N-Strike pistols that are coming out of the woodwork.

Fortunately, I was wrong!

NERF Crossbolt - Firing Video

With many of the 2015 blasters already hitting shelves, there is still very little information on the one blaster that has created the most discussion, The NERF Elite Crossbolt.

Well, thanks to a video posted on the Smyth's Toys YouTube channel, we can now see a firing demo of this little beauty.

NERF CAM ECS-12: Review

Whilst sounding more like an engine part than a toy, the CAM ECS-12 is one of the newest blasters in the NERF range and is also the first ever blaster to feature an integrated camera. With it becoming easier and easier to make and share home videos via the interwebs, this blaster will provide NERFers with the ability to record their antics and share missions and skill shots with their friends through social media.

Elite Longshot Hits Shelves

At least, that's what I thought at first.

I hadn't been to my local Toys 'R' Us in a while so Christmas shopping seemed like a good excuse to go back. Browsing through the usual NERF goodies, I happened across a Longshot and almost had a heart attack.

It's nothing new to see a Longshot CS-6 in the UK, they have always been available here as an exclusive to TRU but this is the first time I had seen one in a shiny new box. Sadly it's just a bit of re-branding, bringing the box design of the Longshot into line with the look and feel of the Elite range. Although the N-Strike logo is clearly shown, I can't help but feel this is a subtle move to 'fool' consumers into thinking it's the same as the rest.

The only thing that is different is that this package comes with 6x Elite darts. Same old clips, same old blaster(s).

Personally, I love the graphic advertising the range. 10m, like it's something to brag about!

Well, it's not the amazing find I initially thought it was, but at the very least it means that the Longshot will be sticking around for a while.

Nerf Zombie Strike Crossfire Bow: Review

So, after some eagle eyed fans spotted a few of the zombie strike range popping up on ebay uk over the last week, I decided to take a punt and buy one of the crossfire bows. I was not disappointed...

Sometimes, Christmas comes at new year :)

MEGA Magnus UK Release Date

Finally, official news on the MEGA Magnus' appearance in the UK.

Ever since we first learned about the NERF MEGA Magnus, I have been anxious to find out whether this blaster would hit 'Old Blighty'. I recently aquired one from Singapore and I have to say, it is excellent.

But now it turns out, if I had been a bit more patient I could have saved myself a fair bit of money.

NERF Vortex Revonix360 - Review

Or: 'He ain't heavy... he my blaster!' *Harmonica solo*

We all have different opinions about things and some people have opinions which to many, go totally against the norm. A perfect example of this is my Father, who, as a die hard fan of Crystal Palace FC, is convinced that they are a better team than Manchester United. This is not the truth, (sadly, "Come on you Eagles!!") it's just his opinion. My point is, my 'against the norm' opinion is: I am a huge fan of the Vortex series. Before you set fire to anything with my name on it, please hear me out...

NERF: The Ultimate Blaster Book - Review

I don't really read much apart from the odd instruction manual. Even then (like all men) I only do it as a last resort, when I've messed things up or can't figure out where part 'A' goes. But when I heard news that a book about my favourite brand was to be released, I grew quite excited.

Recently, I was contacted the publishers for 'The Ultimate NERF Blaster Book' who offered me the opportunity to review the book, ahead of it's release.

Below is my review of 'NERF: The Ultimate Blaster Book' written by Nathaniel Marunas.

MEGA Centurion UK Release Party

Cast your minds back to September. Whilst the rest of the world were already enjoying their MEGA Centurions, nerfers in the UK (and Europe, among others) could only look on with envious eyes as our international cousins were playing with their new blasters. Most didn't really like the Centurion, but that's beside the point.

We would have to wait until 1st October for the Centurion and there was no sign of any accidental pre-releases like there was for the Rapidstrike.

Fortunately for me, UK Nerf was invited to the release party the week before the official launch... Unfortunately for me, I was away with work that week so I wouldn't be able to attend. As gutted as I was, I knew it wouldn't be a huge loss. I would have to find someone to go in my stead. I needed someone tall, strong, courageous, with an investigative mind and a sharp wit. I needed someone who wasn't afraid to ask the hard hitting questions and would tenaciously pursue an answer like a dog after a rabbit.

Launch Party Invitation

What I got was an awesome nerfer who wasn't afraid to shoot at powerful business men in the face and roll around on the floor of a fancy London restaurant in full tactical gear. What I got was Blame_Stosh.

BAGW - Britnerf Annual General War

As the British Nerfing community grows through the Britnerf forum, I am happy to say that organised wars are becoming bigger and more common. The following is a report from the 1st Britnerf Annual General War (BAGW) which was held in Greenwich Park, London on 14th September 2013.

BAGW '13 Attendees

Now nearly a month on, with all the aches and bruises healed, I have finally had the chance to write a report on the day. I hope you enjoy reading.

NERF MEGA Centurion - UK Release

Following the big release party last night (Blame_Stosh's report coming soon), Hasbro UK have sent out a press release for the NERF MEGA Centurion.

There isn't much new here but it does at least confirm the blasters ranges.

Read the official UK press release after the jump.

Nerf MEGA Magnus - First Look

Rumours of the second blaster in the MEGA series have been floating around the Internet for a while now. Then, earlier this month a vague listing appeared on Amazon which confirmed that the 'MEGA Magnus' was a pistol with a built in magazine, much like the Speedload 6.

Thanks to the guys over at dartblaster.de, we now have our first look at the MEGA Magnus.

It's pretty.

Rumor: NERF Robots?

I know what you're thinking... "Wouldn't it be great if Hasbro released a full size NERF battlesuit?"

RX-78 Gundam Battlesuit

We'll, I'm excited to tell you... It's not that.

Nerf Elite Barrel Break Review: Why its Great.

"Shot guns? What like guns that fire shot?"
"Oh you must be the brains of the operation! Yes, guns that fire shot."

Vinnie Jones in 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'

The Barrel break has been around for ages, I'm fully aware of this but with NERF running headlong into 'Mega' blasters and grabbing girls by the ponytail, it is far too easy to leave great blasters on the 'Yesterday's News' pile when they still have much to offer. This is one of those reviews. After you read this review. Go and play the PC classic 'Doom II' immediately. If, for some amazing reason you where just playing Doom II then stopped to read this review. Please read it, then go back to playing. For those who dont know what Im talking about. Shame on you. Look it up, download it and play it, you'll thank me.

Rebelle Heartbreaker Bow - Review

I recently saw the new NERF Rebelle Heartbreaker Bow at Hasbro's Christmas in July event last month. It's a nice looking thing but I was a little underwhelmed with it's performance. I was in the middle of writing a review of it when Seiryuu over on the Britnerf forum managed to get his hands on one early from Argos.

His review is pretty good and he also had the chance to open it up and include some internal pics. Find out what Seiryuu thinks after the jump.

Hasbro Christmas Party, and Updates

It's been a while, but then I've been busy (and ill).

A couple of weeks ago, I went to Hasbro's 'Christmas in July' event in London. This event was a chance for the press (and me) to have a look at all of the wonderful goodies that Hasbro would be releasing in the run up to Christmas. This would obviously include NERF stuff so naturally I was keen to attend.

The New Nerf Centurion - A slight rant

So myself and UKNerfWar were naked mud wrestling when our minds began wandering... and we began sharing our views on the Centurion...
Not that one...

This one!

NERF Mission App - Review

NERF 'Mission App' iPhone Cradle

We've been hearing about NERF making it's way to the smart phone for a while now. We have already seen the iPhone cradle that is designed to attach to the tactical rail but we have heard nothing of the app that has been developed to support it... Until now!

Upcoming Zombie Strike Range - Pics included!

So, the rumours have been flying around recently regarding a new, upcoming line due to hits our stores in 2014 which has been greatly received. Usually with the response of 'HOLYDOGCOWZOMBIEHORDE BATMAN!'. However, now that more information about the range has been released, I have my doubts now...

To the pictures!
