Rumours of the second blaster in the MEGA series have been floating around the Internet for a while now. Then, earlier this month a vague listing appeared on Amazon which confirmed that the 'MEGA Magnus' was a pistol with a built in magazine, much like the Speedload 6.
Thanks to the guys over at dartblaster.de, we now have our first look at the MEGA Magnus.
It's pretty.
The picture popped up on the German store Bankcroft and is the first time we have seen a picture of this beastie. According to what we know already, the MEGA Magnus can hold three darts in the built in magazine. This isn't much but then, the darts are massive. Strangely, there is no mention of ranges in the Bankcroft listing. The Amazon listing stated ranges of 85 feet but there has been no further information on this. It'll be interesting to see how this performs. Given the size of the dart, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of room for a plunger assembly behind the breech. My guess would be that this is another Reverse Plunger setup and this configuration takes up less room. If 85 feet is correct, can nerfers outside of the US expect these ranges or will it be dumbed down like the Centurion?
The price is listed at 24.99 Euros. That's a little over £20 in the Queens money. To me, that seems a bit pricey for a 3 shot pistol. Let's just hope this has the stones to justify the price.

All in all, I think this is a really 'purrdy' looking pistol. The sheer size of it has got me all giggly. Personally I would have preferred a massive version of the Strongarm with a stupidly over sized turret for the MEGA darts but this'll do me just fine. Lets hope the second blaster in the MEGA range gets a better reception than the Centurion has.
Looks promising!
ReplyDeleteI agree on the Mega Revolver, that would be amazing. Hope this doesn't suck...
ReplyDeleteThis could potentially be pretty good. It certainly looks the part.
