Nerf Elite Firestrike and Stryfe Spotted in the UK at ASDA

My weekly shop is usually a dull affair. Carrots, butter, milk... But wait a minute, what's that?

The Firestrike is priced at £8.99 and the Stryfe is £19.99.

  2. Man, no ASDA's in a 7 mile radius around me :(
Hope other stores start getting them soon... like my TRU across the road!

  3. I looked in a couple of ASDAs and didn't find anything, apparently they didn't have any hiding in the back either, so the finder of those must have been very lucky!

    1. I bought a Stryfe and used it at a recent war. To be honest, I wasn't that impressed. If you want a flywheel blaster, go for the Rayven.

On the other hand. The Firestrike is awesome.

    3. I don't really know. With the exception of removing the horrible orange catch, my Stryfe was stock. Appart from a couple of jams when rapid firing it was OK but I just wasn't as impressed as I had hoped.

I will attempt to modify it soon. Maybe I'll love it more when it packs more of a punch but for now, I remain slightly underwhelmed.

    4. I ended up buying the Stryfe from Argos! I tucked the orange catch up into an overhanging millimetre of plastic in the gun, and it has been firing wonderfully with the 25 dart drums and 6 AAs. The Rayven isn't comfortable with those clips (which are my favourite). I'm hoping to mod the front of the blaster to make it even more comfortable, and then I might even post something on here again :D

    6. It is likely that there is a tiny imbalance in one or both of the flywheels which will cause them to vibrate as they spin.

All flywheel blasters suffer from this. Without some precision engineering to balance the flywheels I’m afraid there isn’t really any way of stopping it.

Having said that, you can limit the noise and vibration of the flywheels by padding the inside of the blaster. Simply using a bunch of old darts, packing foam, bath sponge, old sock anything you have to hand and filling all the dead space in the shell, you can seriously reduce the noise your Stryfe makes. Just be sure your ‘baffling’ doesn’t impede any of the firing mechanism otherwise you’ll have to open her up and start again.

  4. They were selling them off cheap when I went in, me and a buddy picked up the last 2 Stryfes for £10 each!

    2. How the... what the... why? Why would they sell off a brand new line? What are they thinking?
